A Break of Day (A Shade of Vampire #7) The Firebird (Slains #2)

Q hovered above me, his body wound tight and bristling with lust. His pale eyes spoke of nothing but the urge to dominate and fuck.

Oh, yeah, this is totally awesome.Let me give you a little tip. He leaned in towards me, lowering his voice so it would be inaudible to anyone around us. Even if the plane does crash, you’ll survive. You’re immortal now.

Devil in Winter (Wallflowers #3)

It  hadn’t dawned on me yet. I was a vampire, and I wasn’t going to die in a plane crash. My fingers relaxed on the arm rest. Still, whenever we hit turbulence, I’d grip onto Ezra for dear life, but he’d just chuckle.I tried to enjoy the rest of the flight, but it was dark, and even with my improved vision, there wasn’t much to see out the window. Ezra brought some books on tracking, and he went through them, even though I’m sure he’d read them before. He’d probably read everything ever written.

Promise Me This (Between Breaths #4)

Where are we going anyway? I asked him quietly. Most other passengers were sleeping, and I didn’t want to wake them.New York City, Ezra replied without looking up from his book. And then to Finland.

Finland? I raised my eyebrow, completely caught off guard by his answer. Peter’s in Finland?

I believe so. He flipped a page. Scandinavia has always been his favorite place to hide out, especially in winter. There’s hardly daylight for months, and the temperatures are usually below freezing.I had gotten used to spending my days alone, but the nights didn’t seem to get any easier. As of late, I had been able to fill them with sleep, but with that infernal fatigue finally gone, I had nothing to busy myself with on a Saturday night.

I put on some comfy pajamas and put on the Bat For Lashes album. Curling up in bed and reading a good book would be the perfect way to pass the evening, and it would help keep me from noticing how very slowly time passed.I flopped back in bed and reached over onto my nightstand for Peter’s book, but my hand came up empty. The book wasn’t there.

Airhead (Airhead #1)

I got out of bed and started rooting around for the book. It wasn’t on the floor around the nightstand, and since I had cleaned, there weren’t dirty clothes for it to hide under. I lay on my belly and squeezed under my bed, which was still pretty full of dust bunnies, but no book.Milo’s ringtone interrupted my search, and the book was forgotten. On my knees, I scrambled to the nightstand and grabbed my phone. A text from Milo wasn’t as exciting as one from Jack, but maybe they were ending the embargo.

Jane keeps calling me. She’s drunk. Milo texted.I’m sorry? I replied, unsure of what exactly he hoped I would do about it.

I can’t talk to her. I just make it worse. Milo responded, but that still didn’t explain what he expected me to do.Then don’t talk to her. I messaged back.

Can you talk to her? She’s making weird threats.Like what? My heart raced and fell at the same time. He wasn’t texting me to talk to me. I was supposed to clean up his mess, but strangely, that made me feel special.
