Leif (Existence Trilogy #2.5) Dirty English

Then those people were idiots.

Thank you for coming. I leaned my head back into his palm.I’m gonna win your dad over. You know that, right?

The Holiday Hoax

I nodded, unable to take my eyes from his. Are you going to be able to sleep? He gave my neck a gentle squeeze. I’ll be fine. You get some rest.I scurried down the darkened hallway to my bedroom before I changed my mind and tackled him onto the couch.

No Quest For The Wicked (Enchanted, Inc. #6)

After brushing my teeth and changing into sweatpants and a tank top, I crawled under the covers of my familiar old bed. Pulling my grandma’s quilt up to my chin, I lay there wide awake, wondering if it’d ever be possible for Ben to fit into this life.I tossed and turned on the lumpy, narrow mattress until well past midnight. My mom’s words rang in my head. Unanswered questions, topics Ben and I had never discussed. Not to mention he just looked out of place in this shabby trailer. Too commanding, too big, most assuredly too beautiful. It suddenly felt like a big f**king deal that I didn’t know his stance on marriage and kids. I’d fallen hopelessly in love with him without even knowing if we were compatible, if we were building toward something real.

My heart raced in my chest. God, I felt like an idiot that I didn’t have the slightest idea to these major life questions. These were nonnegotiable for me. My chest felt tight and achy. I couldn’t go through another breakup with Ben. My heart wouldn’t survive it. I felt like crying. I curled into a ball and hugged my pillow as silent tears streamed down my cheeks.

I wasn’t going to get any sleep at this rate. And my eyes were going to be all puffy for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I threw back the covers and climbed from bed. I’d get a glass of cool water, collect myself, and then get back in bed.Brutus rolled his eyes. Fine. He’d wait until they were done but he was expecting some damn good treats for his patience. He bloody deserved them. He hunkered down and curled up, wrapping his tail round him. There were important naps to be taken.

To say Sean felt stressed was a huge understatement. Give him a cliff to scale or a bar brawl to break up. Hell, give him a freight train to try to outrun, anything but having to pull off being the best man for his brother Finn’s wedding—including but not limited to keeping said brother from losing his collective shit. It’s not like Sean didn’t understand. Getting married was a big deal. Okay, so he didn’t fully understand, not really, but he wanted to. He really did. And how funny was that? Sean O’Riley, younger brother, hook-up king extraordinaire, was suddenly tired of the game and found himself aching for his own forever after.

Hit List (Keller #2)

We almost there? Finn asked him from the backseat of the vehicle Sean was driving. And you double checked on our reservations?

No, I’m serious, man, Finn said. Remember when you took me to Vegas and when we got there, every hotel was booked and we had to stay at the Magic-O motel?Man, a guy screws up one time . . .

We had a stripper pole in our rooms, Sean.Sean sighed. Okay, but to be fair, that was back when I was still in my stupid phase. I promise you that we have reservations—no stripper poles. I even double and triple checked, just like you asked me a hundred and one times. Pru, I hope you realize you’re marrying a nag.

Pru, Finn’s fiancée, laughed from the shotgun position. Hey, one of us has to be the nag in this relationship, and it isn’t me.Sean held up a palm and Pru leaned over the console to give him a high-five.
